Birthdays

This weekend, my baby became a baby no more. Now she’s 4, which is why I didn’t post anything yesterday (still recovering from the weekend).

It was quite a weekend too! On Saturday we did some errands and stealth shopping; you know, for the Birthday Fairy. On Sunday, the actual event, things got a little out of hand.

We went to the zoo. We went darn near everywhere in the zoo. We went to the carousel. We went on the train. We saw the new zebras (three appear-to-be-adults, probably part of their breeding program). We saw the birds. We saw the bats. Oh, and if you think that 4 is too old to notice the lollipop stand conveniently located at the zoo entrance/exit, you’d be wrong. So very wrong. At least she stretched out the lollipop feast.

At home, we had the present opening, lots of playtime and video watching (she got both Strawberry Shortcake and Wallace & Gromit), “tasty pink sauce”, cupcakes and birthday songs. By the time bedtime rolled around, everybody was wiped out.

As Mr. Goth put her to bed, she told him, “I had the best day ever.” That was the highlight of my day.
