It’s all over. We all survived (more or less) School Girl’s first year of school, complete with the kindergarten play/kindie graduation. Thanks to the miracles of adrenaline (yes, her own self-generated adrenaline, thank you), School Girl was able to pull it together and go today.
It was quite a spectacle. Both C and M were able to make it today, which was wonderful. The not-so-wonderful part was having to wait in line for 20 minutes to have our driver’s licenses (or as they put it, our State Issued Photo Identification Cards) scanned and a paper picture tag printed for each and every one of us. The worst part was that it made the kindergarten play run 1/2 hour late, so they couldn’t stay for all of the graduation stuff after. But it was nice for School Girl to have them there just the same.
The play, Chika Chika Boom Boom, was adorable. The kids did a pretty good job – nobody had a breakdown on stage, most of the kids were singing, and everybody had a great time. School Girl inexplicably got a little upset at first – I think she was looking for all of us and couldn’t see us right away – but she did fine, considering.
And graduation went just fine too. There’s a password-protected post with a pic of the play after this – if anybody wants the password, just leave a comment. Well, not just anybody…you have to have at least one comment here, or I need to know you from Ravelry or IRL.
Oh, and even though she’s a big First Grader now, she still doesn’t like fizzy pop. Not even in a root-beer float. Not that I’m complaining…
